Job Description:
The Food Service Specialist (FSS) position is a vital part of the ministry of Camp Pinewood. The FSS will be responsible for all food preparation and sanitation of the kitchen and dining room providing safe, quality, good tasting food for the guests of Camp Pinewood. The FSS will cause to happen or manage volunteers/summer staff responsible for the following: Create menus and communicate menus with your supervisor prior to ordering. Order all items needed for menus. Cooking all meals for guests. Kitchen clean up and sanitation. Properly maintain all required documentation related to food services and sanitation. Dining room service In camp ministry there are times when the FSS will be called on to perform other tasks outside of the Food Service responsibilities and may include house keeping, assisting with group activities, office work, etc

VOLUNTEER
Camp Pinewood depends on volunteers all year-round! We are always looking for help us construction projects, cleaning, kitchen help with guest groups, and many other things. If you - or your family, your small group, your youth group, etc - are interested in volunteering at camp you can fill out the volunteer application by clicking the link below.
Members of our high school servant staff spend a week at camp volunteering to serve in various positions such as dish washers, kitchen helpers, program assistants and more. Servant Staff is open to students going into 9-12th grades.

A Cabin Lead (formerly called Counselor) is responsible for supervising campers and keeping them safe. Cabin Leads are the heartbeat of ministry here at Camp Pinewood. We operate a Cabin Lead centered program where Leads are interacting with and supervising campers for the entire week. A strong, healthy relationship with Christ is essential along with the ability to share the gospel with others. Living your faith by example is critical. The successful candidate should demonstrate a high level of servant leadership, team building and interpersonal skills. Their duties include teaching children and teenagers outdoor and recreational skills, overseeing and planning camp activities. They will also be called upon to do a variety of other duties as needed including but not limited to cleaning designated facilities, assisting with other camps when campers are not assigned, learning and implementing emergency protocol efforts to ensure the protection of campers. This position is open to students or young people who are past the 12th grade. The 2025 camp season starts June 8th and ends August 1st.
